Exigence is the purpose or motivation that make you write. At first, I wasn’t quite sure what was exigence about, after learning the courses, I have a better understanding of exigence. Exigence usually starts with an issue, or tragedy, or demands that motivate the writer to write a solution appeal to the audiences. Such as a politician make a statement of gun control, an apple CEO introduce a new products, a diplomate deliver a speech to strengthen culture ties between two culture, so on. Exigence can help writer understand why they are writing something.

For example, during the final project. Our group has introduced the problems, background of the disaster, in order to further explain why our project is necessary.
