Media and design decides how the proposal should be delivered. Knowing the media could help the writer better develop their projects. For example, a lab report needs more charts and data to better persuade the audiences, if we are write a tech instruction, we need to develop an blue print to make sure the instruction is easy to follow. Design is important, and visual aids are helpful for the designs of a writing. We have done many genre analysis throughout the semester, and a good reports will always have better structure and more visual aids. Without visual aids, the writings can be confusing. The layout of a visual aids are also important, such as in one article, the writer put all the visual aids together in the end of a page which make the article very hard to follow. So I think a design of a writing is just as important as other categories.

In one of our group writing for Media and Design, for example, we didn’t have visual aid to help understand our points. We could have add more pictures to demonstrate our points.

A good layout design sample would be the student sample page. The writer used web as media and his/her design is clear, easy to follow, with each section well labeled.
